Cosmetic eyelids and eyebrow lift

A Brow lift surgery is also commonly referred to as the forehead lift and it is a cosmetic procedure that is developed to raise the eyebrows, smooth the forehead and minimize the signs of aging. Just like the facelift surgical procedure, the brow-lift surgical procedure can be used to enhance the overall appearance of the face. A brow lift surgery can be used to remove furrows between the brows or in the forehead that can cause people to appear angry or look worried even when they are happy. A brow lift surgery can also be used to fix the earliest signs of aging like drooping of the eyebrows. It has been said that patient that has just undergone a brow lift surgery often appear more relaxed and happier.

The main aim of the browlift plastic surgery is to correct drooping brows, tighten excess loose skin and smooth forehead wrinkling. The doctor might be required to remove part of the muscle that results in vertical frown lines between the brows. This procedure can be used to get a smoother brow and a more youthful facial expression. The doctors are able to repair the signs of aging by adding volume and gently pulling specific areas after assessing where volume has been lost and gravity has caused sagging or pulling. The doctor will make incisions along the brow, hairline or forehead in order to reduce scarring. The brow lift surgery can be used to repair more advanced signs of aging like deep creases and furrows which might be untreatable with less invasive treatments.

The brow-lift cosmetic surgery can be used to minimize wrinkle lines that develop horizontally across the forehead and those that develop on the bridge of the nose, between the eyes. Other benefits of the brow-lift surgery include improving frown lines which are vertical creases that appear between the eyebrows, placing the eyebrows in an alert and youthful position and raising sagging brows that are holding the upper eyelids. There are two types of brow lift surgery and they are;

CLASSIC LIFT: This type of brow lift surgery involves one continuous incision starting at the level of the ears going up around the hairline. It is very important for the doctor to work in a way (depending on where the hairline is) that will enable him or her to avoid visible scars.

ENDOSCOPIC LIFT: This type of brow lift involves the doctor making a few shorter incisions in the scalp. The doctor will then insert a scope (a small camera at the end of a thin tube) into one of the incisions and another scope will be inserted in another incision to make the required changes. The doctor will then use small anchors to secure the tissue. As a result of the fact that the incisions are smaller for endoscopic lift, the procedure is less invasive than the classic lift. This is why the scarring is reduced for this procedure and a shorter period of time is required for recuperation.

Steps of Brow Lift Surgery

There are many steps involved in brow lift surgery. The first step involves putting the patient under the influence of anesthesia. The doctor will inject the patient with anesthesia so that they will be calm and comfortable during the brow lift surgical procedure. The doctor will try either intravenous sedation or general anesthesia.
The next step involves making incisions along the brow, hairline or forehead. The brow lift surgery can be done in different ways. There are some doctors that like to use an endoscope (which is a thin tube with a camera on the end) and special instruments placed through small incisions created within the hairline. This enables the muscle and tissue under the skin to be adjusted in order to correct the source of visible furrows and creases in the forehead.

ENDOSCOPIC INCISION

There are some doctors that like to perform a brow lift surgery through a technique known as “Coronal Incision”. The coronal incision is made from ear to ear across the top of the head, within the hair-bearing skin. After this, the doctor will then lift the forehead skin and make any muscle adjustments that can be made under direct visualization. This procedure might leave a scar which is often well concealed within the hair.

CORONAL INCISION

This is another common method used by the doctors to make incision for the browlift cosmetic surgery. This is often used for women with very high foreheads and it involves making an incision just at the anterior hairline. This method can be used to lift the brow without adjusting the height of the front line. This procedure often results in a more visible scar but they can be hidden with bangs.
These incisions can be closed by using removable or absorbable sutures with skin adhesives, special clips, and surgical tape.
Before the brow lift surgery, the patient is subjected to testing and medical evaluation. The patient will also have to take certain medication or adjust your current medication and avoid smoking before the surgery. The patient should also avoid taking aspirin, anti-inflammatory drugs, and other supplements because they can increase bleeding.
